A huge congratulations to our Mounties Masters team on being crowned as premiers in the Masters (Over 40) OWLS Competition for 2023-24.
In a very tight tussle at the top of the leader board Mounties (380pts) finished just 4 points ahead of Schofields (376pts). Well done to the team lead by Captain Charudatt on a wonderful season finishing with 9 victories from 11 matches.
PREMIERSHIP WIN - FIRST PAST THE POST
In Round 11 Mounties Masters team put together a very strong performance to beat Northbridge convincingly. The win was good enough to maintain their premiership position in the Masters OWLS competition. A Recap of the last round -
Mounties bowled first and our opening bowler Mahesh Patel put on a masterclass display of swing bowling. His figures of 5/7 had our opponents reeling at 5/19. Nasir Jalil 3/10 and Farrukh Khan 2/5 then put up a fine show with their off-spin bowling partnership, to bowl Northbridge out (54) with the help of some remarkable slip catching by Captain Charudatt. Mounties made quick work of the 55 runs needed to win, taking just 11.3 overs to move pass their target. Nasir Jalil (23) and Anurag Prasad (13 no) were best of the batsman. #mountieswinners
